THE NIGHT FLYERS

In the heart of the outback, terror awakens - and survival is a deadly game!
Thriller | 180m | Inspired by a True Story
The Night Flyers is a supernatural thriller set in the vast isolation of the Australian Outback, where a group of young filmmakers travel into remote desert country to shoot a documentary about a mysterious creature whispered about in Aboriginal folklore. What begins as an ambitious attempt to capture evidence of an ancient legend quickly spirals into a terrifying fight for survival when the group unexpectedly encounters the creature they came searching for. As night falls across the desolate landscape, the filmmakers realise the legend is not only real — it is hunting them.

The horrifying encounter leaves only a few survivors, including a grief-stricken outback recluse who has faced the creature before and a determined young man desperate to uncover the truth behind what happened to his friends during the documentary shoot. Together they form an uneasy alliance to confront the ancient predator and the dark secrets hidden beneath the land before more lives are lost.

Originally produced as a proof-of-concept short film on a shoestring independent budget, The Night Flyers demonstrated the story’s cinematic tone, atmospheric tension, and audience appeal. The project is now being developed for full production as a two-part feature film, with a proposed combined budget of $6 million AUD, allowing the story’s mythology, characters, and scale to expand into a gripping supernatural saga set against the dramatic landscapes of the Australian Outback.
Starring
