INSPIRED BY A TRUE STORY UNIQUE TO FAR NORTH QUEENSLAND

Inspired by one of Australia's most intriguing unsolved mysteries.

John the Revelator is a gritty, character-driven crime drama set against the untamed landscapes of Far North Queensland, inspired by the infamous Kuranda Train Robbery of 1973. Combining powerful storytelling with breathtaking Australian scenery, the film explores themes of brotherhood, loyalty, redemption, and the choices that define a person's legacy.

The story follows two orphaned brothers whose unbreakable bond is forged through childhood hardship and later hardened by the trauma of the Vietnam War. Returning home searching for purpose in a rapidly changing Australia, they establish a motorcycle brotherhood built on loyalty, honour, and the belief that family extends beyond blood. What begins as a close-knit community of outcasts soon grows into one of the region's most influential motorcycle clubs, earning both admiration and fear.

As the club's power and reputation expand, so too do the forces determined to destroy it. Rival gangs, organised crime syndicates, corrupt officials, and dangerous international interests begin to close in, testing loyalties from within and threatening everything the brothers have fought to build. As ambition, faith, and betrayal collide, the brotherhood is drawn deeper into a world where every decision carries devastating consequences.

When unimaginable tragedy strikes, the brothers are driven towards a daring high-stakes train robbery that will ultimately become one of Australia's greatest unsolved mysteries. In the aftermath, they are forced to confront the true cost of power, revenge, and redemption, discovering that the line between justice and vengeance is far more fragile than either could have imagined.

More than an action-packed crime drama, John the Revelator is a story about family, sacrifice, identity, and the enduring spirit of regional Australia. Set against the spectacular backdrops of Kuranda, Mareeba, Herberton, and the Atherton Tablelands, the film celebrates the unique history, culture, and landscapes of Far North Queensland while delivering a cinematic experience with international appeal.

The project is currently in pre-production, with casting underway and key creative and technical crew positions actively being secured. SilverFox Films is proud to welcome acclaimed Australian producer Tristan Barr of Filmbarr to lead the production, bringing extensive experience in delivering internationally recognised independent feature films.

With script development complete and production planning well advanced, principal photography is scheduled to commence in June/July 2027. As SilverFox Films' flagship production, John the Revelator represents far more than a feature film—it is the beginning of a long-term vision to establish Far North Queensland as a destination for world-class filmmaking, create meaningful opportunities for local cast and crew, and leave a lasting legacy for Australia's screen industry.
